Speedometer, one of the UK's leading jazz-funk bands, released their third album "Four Flights Up", named after the memory of dancing all night long at a club on the 4th floor of a building in Osaka on the last day of their tour in Japan in 2005, featuring a cover of Beyonce's "Crazy In Love". Am I Your Woman?", a cover of Chai Lites' "Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)", which is also famous as the source material for Beyonce's "Crazy In Love", featuring Leah Carrey on vocals, is now available as a 7-inch cut. The performance has a more sultry groove, while Leah's powerful vocals shine through. The coupling track is "Killer Jazz Funk" from the self-titled album by the Night Blooming Jazzmen, a project conceived by jazz critic Leonard Feather and recorded by the Mainstream All-Stars, including Blue Mitchell, Charles Kynard, and Paul Humphrey. This is a cover of the killer jazz funk "Nam M'Yoho Ren'Ge Kyo" recorded by the Night Blooming Jazzmen on their self-titled album. From the drum break at the beginning of the song to the perfect phrasing of the horns, the entire performance is tight and funky.
