When the unnamed young girl loses her pet dog her older sister goes into the night in search of him. But when neither return home it is up to our young protagonist to venture into the once-familiar town, now shrouded by the darkness of night. The darkness brought by the night is a crucial gameplay mechanic as it hides everything worth finding and exploring - including your sister and dog. With the use of her flashlight the young girl can uncover the secrets hidden by the night, and even enter parts of the town only open at night.
